Iron Man

What was the coolest movie of '08? The "Dark Knight?" Nope! Hands down the best action movie of '08 was Iron Man!

Terror comes in many shapes and sizes!

In between some other projects I am working on, I took the time to do some of my own work. For those who are Kaiju fans (Japanese monster movies) you should know who these characters are. Katsura, the controller of Mechagodzilla in the 70's film "Terror of Mechagodzilla" was a very flat character, until I got to see the original Japanese version. When Katsura is forced to have the controller of the mechanical monster put inside of her she must decide between life and death. If she lives, the mechanical terror will continue to destroy the Earth, if she dies, she loses her life but the monster is destroyed. For a monster film of its time it is a very compelling story. It was also the first Godzilla movie I ever saw!

McWane Science Center

These are the kids that I did for the McWane Science Center in Birmingham. You can go and see their new exhibit called "The Itty Bitty Magic City." If you are not from around Birmingham, the kid with the beard is dressed up like a statue of Vulcan that over looks our city. Go and check out the exhibit!

CD Artwork Panda Pics

I have just completed 4 CD covers for some children's classical music. They should be out around July! This project went from character design all the way to final cover art. These are probably my favorite 2 out of the 4.

Blackout Attacks!

The coolest part of Transformers was the totally awesome intro. When Blackout transformed and started to destroy the military base, you knew you were in for one sweet ride! I loved the design of Blackout. It was bulky, ridged and very fierce. I only wish he had more of an important role in the movie! "All Hail Megatron!"

Anime Happiness

New year, new stuff! The primary reason why I did this piece of work is so that I could listen to some lectures from DesiringGod.org. I have been wanting to do some fun stuff and I had some free time, so what better way to use that time than listening to life changing messages and doing some fun work!

Episode 4 Attack!!!

Well, finally I get to work on some Sci-fi! I have always been interested in ship design. The Blockade Runner from Star Wars has always been a personal favorite. The long, junky body and the hammerhead like nose give it a very unique look. I hope to do a few more of these in the near future!

ZOOM!!!

Well I am still alive! I have been so busy lately that I have not been able to do anything that I have wanted to do. This piece is my latest. It comes from a short story that I wrote for a college class a few years ago.

ARTSY

This is one of my latest pieces.

MST3K

This is the greatest show ever! Mystery Science Theater 3000 is genius. Unfortunately they cancelled it at its funniest. If you have ever seen the show you know the premise. Basically, these three watch a terrible movie and say everything you wish you could say during the film. Their silhouette has become an icon in itself! My favorites are; Horror of Party Beach, Prince of Space, and The Incredible Strange Creatures that became Mixed up Zombies!

ME!!!

This is me!!!

Star Wars

This is one of my favorite pieces. Star Wars was really big at the time that I did this and I wanted to capture some of the Pop! So what better way than to illustrate one of Star Wars most recognizable images!

Fishy!

This is an older piece of mine but still one of my favorites!

Dino Run

I wanted to make a piece with excitement and action. I experimented here with textures, motion blurs, and other effects that I had not yet played with.

Rocker

This work came about after a quick sketch in one of my classes. I drew a cool pose that turned out to be this illustration. This is also the first time I really experimented with backgrounds. The original background had illustrated speakers and lights.
